Starlink Rolls Out Internet Service in Sri Lanka
"Starlink now available in Sri Lanka!," Musk posted on X.
With this launch, Sri Lanka becomes the second South Asian nation to gain access to Starlink's services, following the recent debut in Bangladesh last month.
In March, Pakistan issued a temporary No Objection Certificate (NOC) for Starlink to operate within its borders, marking a significant step in the region.
Earlier this year, two of India's largest telecom companies, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, entered into agreements with SpaceX to bring Starlink connectivity to India.
As a subsidiary of SpaceX, the private aerospace company owned by Elon Musk, Starlink continues its rapid global expansion. It now serves over 125 countries and territories, offering internet connectivity to remote and underserved areas via a network of low-Earth orbit satellites.
